Shotcrete repairs to bridge

This was a shotcrete bridge repair in Mid Michigan.  The wet mix shotcrete design that was shot contained many admixtures and blends of fine aggregate and fibers that added to the strength of this beam repair.  This mix design will achieve strengths in excess of 8000 psi.  The admixtures not only increase the density and psi of the in place shotcrete they also improve the concretes resistant to road salt, sulphates, and freeze thaw damage.  What admixtures? Fly Ash, Silica fume, water reducers, and super plasticisers are just a few of this mix designs special ingredients.
